YOUR WORLD
Giving and receiving should be in balance. We often think that we are noble and selfless if we give something and in fact that is true. But we must also realize that it may affect the autonomy of the other. The one who receives has no influence on what he receives. Giving is power. Receiving is giving away power. It is not strange that we often feel ackward when we receive something. That is why it is good to share. Sharing is a mutual exchange. I have something of value and share that with you, you can choose what you share with me. Originally the money system was meant this way (to replace the direct exchange of goods).
This went well until the balance between giving and taking got lost. Too many people/agencies wanted to take at the expense of others. Because the receipt was anonymized (via the public order: tax/social system/stock exchanges) and thus receiving no longer felt as loss of power/autonomy. This imbalance is the cause of the current crises. Many people think that the current world problems are so complicated that they can not contribute to a solution, even if they want to. If you examines your own relationship with the various macro-and micro-level themes, you really contribute a great deal!
